Today in school we welcomed members of the Defence Forces. They came as part of the 100 year commemoration of the 1916 Rising and presented us with a copy of the Proclamation and an Irish Tricolour. Melanie and Charlie read out questions which different classes had prepared and Dylan read out a paragraph of the Proclamation. Jayden and Amy accepted the Tricolour on behalf od the school. We will raise the flag on the 15th March 2016 on the National Day of Commemoration. We were also given a job to prepare our own Proclamation. To finish off the occasion we sang Amhrán na bhFiann with help from Ms. O’Riordan on the piano. Enjoy our photos.
