This week is Active School’s Week. We have lots of activities planned for the week. Students are wearing their tracksuits everyday. We are also doing P.E. activities for homework. Active Week is about making physical exercise fun and as part of everyday life. We have asked a number of clubs in the area into our school to give children an opportunity to try a new sport. We are lucky that we have so many fantastic clubs in the area who have been very generous with their time.
Our Active Committee began Active Week by explaining the plan for the week. We are doing Drop Everything and Dance everyday. Third to Sixth Class are in mixed teams and are taking part in a soccer tournament. We have 66 students taking part which is fantastic. Junior Infants to Second Class kicked off our Active Week activities by taking part in a penalty shoot-out against the Active Committee and some volunteers from 6th class. We are getting extra P.E. time this week as well as having lots of coaches coming in to let us try out their sport. We began our week by doing the Operation Transformation 10@10 video. It was lots of fun.

The whole school took part in Drop everything and Dance everyday. We danced to all of our favourite songs in the halla.
We did P.E homework for the week. We brought photographs into school to display some of the activities we did. Ms. Jennings class wrote some of the activities they had done in the evenings. There was a huge range of sports on the list. Well done.
