As part of the Litter and Waste part of our 6th Green Flag we are focusing on electronic waste. Each pupil was given a blue battery box from WEEE and each classroom has a large box. Thanks so much to everyone who has brought in batteries so far. We have already had one collection from WEEE and have another big collection coming next week which will include ewaste from the school as well as small household electronic appliances that are obsolete (toasters, kettles, hairdryers, etc). It is very important to dispose of electronic waste responsibly as most of it is shipped to developing countries where it is dumped in large landfills and burned which causes further environmental damage.
