Senior Infants

Senior Infants have had a great start to the school year! They have spent lots of time outdoors including an autumn nature walk. They also did an art lesson in the outdoor classroom where they made wands from natural materials they collected around the Wilderness Walkway.
They painted some beautiful autumn leaves and experimented with pointillism. They have also enjoyed some very fun PE such as rugby with Heidi from Cobh Pirates and Dayl from Sinéad Sheppard’s School of Dance. Well done boys and girls for all your hard work and excellent behaviour every day!

Fourth Class Blog

Fourth class have been very busy this year. They made a Christmas movie called The Naught Elf. The fourth class team won the Credit Union quiz in Cobh and have progressed to the next round in Cork next month.

The girls from fourth and fifth class have visited St. Al’s in Carrigtwohill for their school musical Grease.

They have participated in Be The I In Kind project for Friendship February. They are reading the novel Wonder which focuses on the theme of kindness. They are also doing rugby training with George Rasmussen which they are really enjoying!

Walk to School Week

This week was Walk to School Week. Well done to all our wonderful pupils who made a big effort to walk and park and stride to school this week. Classes also designed their own runners, drew their journey to school, blinged their runners, went on class walks and made ads and movies to raise awareness about sustainable travel.

Sports Day 2023

We had a very successful sports day in Walterstown National School this year. The pupils took part in a wide range of activities in the sunshine including a bouncy castle! A special thank you to the Parents Association who organised an ice cream truck which came to the school – a well earned treat at the end of a fantastic day!
