Fleur’s Magical Moment

Walterstown is thrilled to be part of something magical! We are proud to work with My Canine Companion, Ireland’s national therapy dog charity . Our amazing therapy dog Fleur brings joy and comfort to our school every day.

This Christmas, My Canine Companion has partnered with The Everyman to promote their access performances of Cinderella, ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of the Panto.

Walterstown NS is delighted to support this wonderful initiative that champions inclusion and accessibility for all. Learn more about these special performances and where to buy tickets:

Senior Infants

Senior Infants have had a great start to the school year! They have spent lots of time outdoors including an autumn nature walk. They also did an art lesson in the outdoor classroom where they made wands from natural materials they collected around the Wilderness Walkway.
They painted some beautiful autumn leaves and experimented with pointillism. They have also enjoyed some very fun PE such as rugby with Heidi from Cobh Pirates and Dayl from Sinéad Sheppard’s School of Dance. Well done boys and girls for all your hard work and excellent behaviour every day!

Bí Cineálta Pupil Policy

As part of our Bí Cineálta initiative our student council made a Pupil Policy to prevent bullying and spread kindess. It can be seen displayed around our school, reminding us all to be kind and to look out for one another at all times.

Junior Infants

Our Junior infants have made a wonderful start to school life and are settling in so well! They have been practising important pre-reading, fine motor and maths skills through fun and hands-on activities and stories. There’s also been plenty of time for sports such as rugby and outdoor play, making the most of our lovely school grounds. It’s been a joy to see their enthusiasm and smiles each day – they’re doing a fantastic job!
