Carol Singing At Cork Airport
Another fantastic performance from the pupils of Walterstown National School this afternoon! In Cork Airport we welcomed people arriving home for Christmas with a selection of festive songs! Thanks to Cork Airport for inviting us to sing and also to all our families and friends who came to listen!
WNS Christmas Concert 2023
Our annual Christmas concert took place in WNS this week. All pupils took part in four fantastic performances which were enjoyed by parents, grandparents, siblings, preschool pupils and many others! The pupils sang a collection of songs including old classics such as Frosty the Snowman and Jingle Bells and more modern songs such as Ed Shearan and Elton John’s Merry Christmas. We ended our concert with A Million Dreams and every child in the school sang the song using Lámh. A big thank you to everyone who attended the concert and made it such a special, magical event!
Second Class
We have been very busy in second class the past few weeks. We have been preparing for the Christmas show as well as our visit to the airport for carol singing. We visited Pairc Uí Chaoimh for the Sciath na Scol final. We have been learning about fractions in maths and winter as gaeilge. We also used LEGO bricks to do experiments for Science Week 2023.
Purple Class
The purple class have been very busy in the last few weeks learning all about winter. We have been on nature walks and enjoyed playing on frosty mornings. We have also started preparing for Christmas with lots of arts and crafts and preparing for our Christmas concert.
Happy Retirement to Postman Paul
A massive thank you to our postman Paul who is retiring today. We would like to wish him all the best for a fantastic retirement and thank him for the great work he has done for Walterstown National School over the years. He will be greatly missed!
Student of the Week Winners
Collecting their certs and prizes by the Christmas tree! Well done everybody!
Aqua Class
The aqua class were doing Christmas art. They were revising their phonics and making phonics posters. They were preparing for the Late Late Toyshow and visited Cookery Cottage where they made pizza and cupcakes!
Christmas Artwork
The pupils in 6th class have been busy preparing for Christmas. They have created some beautiful artwork which will be hung up in our school hall in time for our Christmas concert!
Cobh At Christmas Time
Use your imagination and draw a picture themed Cobh At Christmas Time! The creative and artistic talents of our pupils could be seen all around the school as they thought of their favourite places in Cobh at Christmas.
